You have applied the artificial nails and now you cherish the beautiful-looking hands...It will not last long, though, if you do not follow the below tips.

The same as you natural nails, the artificial nails need proper care and pampering. Without that, they will shortly look neglected. Instead of gracing your hands they will mar the beauty of the hand. Many ladies, applying the artificial nails for the first time, seem to assume that their hands will just look beautiful for the following few months, and they themselves do not need to care for the hands at all. There is nothing more misleading.

An artificial nail grows the same way as your natural one does. It gets scratched on miscellaneous objects. It is exposed to some chemicals you can find in your cosmetics, detergents, etc.

Many of these chemicals are not only truly harmful for the artificial nails alone, as your skin also suffers from the contact with them. Wearing artificial nails you often forget they are not a part of your body and sometimes you may absent-mindedly cause their loss.

To avoid that and to enjoy your artificial nails for more than one day there are a couple of tips to follow:
After some time since the nails’ application it is necessary to file them a little bit. The best is to do so using a paper nail file. Most of the manicurists sell specialist nail files of the companies they use themselves. It is worth to consider such a purchase as these nail files are already tested and they often surpass the quality of those you can buy in a shop (visually they usually do not differ from each other, but as for their quality there is a big difference).

DO NOT EVER CUT the artificial nails either with clippers or scissors. Not following this rule may cause the cracking of gel all over the artificial nail or even of the nail itself. If an artificial nail needs shortening, you can file it. If you want to change the colour, use a special artificial nail polish remover or a glycerin-based one. All acetone-based polish removers may cause an artificial nail to lift, and you definitely do not want this. Doing housework, e.g. washing the windows or floors, especially when using strong detergents labeled ‘Always wear rubber gloves’, do so. This will protect not only your nails but also the skin of your hands.

You need to be careful opening the fridge door, the car door or in any other situation when your hand may slide off a grabbed object. Very often, while trying to abruptly open the door or grab an object, you get the nail caught on and break it. These spontaneous actions are by far the most common reason for the artificial nail to break. The complaint does not grant such an instance, so remember that the artificial nail broken in such a way leaves a distinctive trace – well-known to every manicurist. Opening a drawer, remember that your fingers are longer now, and you can either break a nail on it or at least cause gel to crack all over the nail, not mentioning the pain that comes with it. You should not put your shoes on helping yourself with fingers. Use a shoehorn instead.

Filling – in other words adding gel onto the nails grown anew, is done between 3rd -4th week of wearing. However, it still depends on the nail growth different to each lady.

Following the above tips will let you function in everyday life, doing all the chores at home and enjoying beautiful, well-cared, nice-looking hands and nails for much longer than just the day of your visit at the manicurist.
