Autumn wedding – why not?

Autumn weddings can be as great as the ones celebrated in the spring or summertime; there are no doubts about that. Just think of the variety of colours the leaves falling off the trees display to us and imagine that’s how colourful your marriage’s going to be.

You don’t have to worry about the weather getting too hot, but still do it before the extreme climate conditions come in. Also, by deciding on an off-peak wedding, you might be lucky to avail of some pretty good offers in terms of prices.

There are numerous things you can do to make an autumn wedding one to remember. As colours have been mentioned, why not make use of them? For starters, pick your dress and forget about the traditional white. Imagine yourself in a nice subtle cream or ecru dress. Think of your bridesmaids and suggest a typical, warm autumn colour, like chocolate brown, maroon, gold or dark green. Also, if you’re going to have flowers sprinkled along the aisle, perhaps those could be replaced with dried ones or colourful autumn leaves.

The tables would gain this cosy autumn look if you adorned them with burgundy, brown and golden details. You can pick plates in that colour, place napkins with autumn designs on them and leave a few bowls filled with potpourri on the tables. If the reception starts in the evening, you might want to greet your guests with nice mulled wine to warm them up.

On top of all that, if your wedding takes place later on during the day, weather-permitted, you might get to have the ceremony at the candlelight. Think of your wedding photographs, how beautiful you will look among the colourful autumn leaves, surrounded by seasonally-coloured decorations in your subtle cream dress. When arranging your photo album, you can make an extra effort and attach little details to it in matching colours. Then grab a glass of hot spiced wine and reminisce that great day you will never want to forget.
